W Mavericks:
Time Tomcat, Guts Grizzly Bear, Fire Stallion, Cybershock Sheep, Ice Hedgehog, Metal Mouse, Galaxy Lemur, Stealth Snake

“Listen kid, I’m a foreman, not a bully, but if you continue to cause trouble, I’m going to have to do some really bad things.”

Reploid Name: Guts Grizzly Bear
Original Robot Master: Guts Man
Weapon: Super Arm, strength (Strength)
Weakness: Bomb (Search Snake)
Rank: B
Allegiance: W Mavericks
Position: Material Excavation
Base of Operations: Canyon Quarry

Guts Grizzly, in all irony, is a gentle giant at heart, but is ruthless if he needs to be. As one of Light’s original creations before being upgraded, he is built effectively for intense construction work. Personally, he’d rather fight safety hazards over Maverick Hunters. However, he’ll lose his cool if his attempts at reason are ignored or rebuked, and has been seen to be a powerhouse of pure destruction. Although he shows unmovable loyalty to the W Mavericks, he seems to hate everything they stand for. Some think he’s stupid because of his brute strength, yet he knows more about the nature of both architecture and geo science than most experts. He uses this knowledge to help him predict where the rocks will fall. Guts Grizzly Bear’s signature move is Super Arm. He pounds the ground with his foot, causing a stunning shockwave to the enemy if he is touching the ground or wall. Meanwhile, a large boulder falls into his hand, which he throws at the target. Although it does not shatter like in his original form, the rock itself is three times the size of X, making it much harder to evade overall. His second attack is raming into the enemy, which he does very quickly, and can only be avoided by running to the wall and jumping over him, since him landing on the wall will result in a stunning shockwave. His next attack is “Crush Stomp.” He leaps high in the air towards his opponent until he is directly above him. At this time, he quickly stomps straight down, sending a shockwave, and possibly resulting in some falling rocks, which must also be avoided. His final attack is “Tremor.” He pounds the ground with immense strength, causing a shockwave, followed by certain parts of the ground shooting up. His weakness is bomb-type attacks, like his weakness in the original Mega Man. Explosives pierce his tough armor. If used on him while holding a boulder, the boulder will crumble on top of him, and he will have to burst through the rubble, but this will also make him angry, and he will immediately charge at the opponent. He was placed in charge of the Canyon Quarry to oversee the dig operations, and to exterminate any intruders. He gets along best with Time Tomcat and Ice Hedgehog, even though their personalities appear to conflict.

Guts Man is THE robot master of Dr Wily, as far as he is concerned. He has had clear significance in the first game with what appeared to be a Guts Man army being built in the final Wily Stage, in the second game with the Guts Dozer boss, and the seventh game with the Nintendo hard Guts Man G. Guts Grizzly Bear is the reploidized version of him. He also shares some of his character traits as seen in Mega Man Powered Up, such as being a foreman, and not being a bully (at least in his version of the story.) In terms of reploidized robot masters, I first saw this sort of thing on youtube comments, but I have yet to see it in any other format. I think it would be neat to see any designs that other artists have come up with (hint, hint.) As the sixth reploid of the W Mavericks, there are only two more to go. Whether or not I will post the next one tomorrow is still in question, but if you want a hint, he’s from the third Mega Man game.

Guts Grizzly Bear was easy, yet hard at the same time. On one note, his body was a synch. The face was where the trouble began. I wanted to make the eyes more like optical lenses to change him from the other reploids. I have fun trying to make them as diverse as possible. His signature jaw was a bit tricky to work on. I didn’t want him to look like a boar or something, yet the under bite was critical. The face was also tricky. It seemed he was lacking features, but when I added cheeks, it didn’t work well. I found that making his face brown (instead of matching his head,) while making his eyes larger with the Mega Man X Mechaniloid style effectively helped fix the problem for the most part. I hope he works. I’m certain the next one will have little to no roadblocks.

Will there be more Reploid/Maverick Masters?
